KK, river decision
I open red KK in EP, somebody with ~ 24/8/2.7 over 70 hands 3 bets next to act, folds to me and i call. Flop As9s4x. I c/c. turn 8h checks through. River is Qs.

Re: KK, river decision
check/call. He will likely bet a wider range on hands on the river than he will call with.

Re: KK, river decision
Whats ur plan here? R u slowplaying KK?? when ur 3betPF cap it and lead the turn, if your raised again this might even be a laydown on the flop. But the way you played it I bet the river. Unless ur opponent is a trickster then I c/c.

Re: KK, river decision
Do you think he is capable of calling with 99/TT/JJ on this river? If so I think a bet/fold is in order, otherwise I c/c.

Re: KK, river decision
I would bet/call this river. Its unlikely he made a flush and the only way that Q could've helped him is if he had QQ. I expect to see a smaller pocket pair or KQ here.
I also cap PF. |

Whats ur plan here? R u slowplaying KK?? [/ QUOTE ] If this were MW, i obviously cap. Since it's HU, i occassionally don't cap with premium hands b/c i think i can get more post-flop out of aggro players. I also sometimes cap PF with less than premium hands PF HU. The ace on the flop kind of messed over my plans. |

Re: KK, river decision
How often do you think this guy will raise the river with a worse hand here? I'm really not worried about getting pushed off a better hand here and would prefer a bet/fold if we decide to bet the river?

Re: KK, river decision
Check/call.
The turn check is likely to be either a slowplay or a big pocket pair (JJ-KK). Lower pocket pairs are less likely to pull this maneuver because they are afraid of overcards to their pp falling and because their hand is less likely to be good if you both have pocket pairs. If a medium pocket pair does check the turn here, they are not planning to call a river bet at least some of the time. Also, the queen and third spade falling on the river increases the chance your opponent will bluff or bluff raise and makes it less likely you will be called by a medium pocket pair. |

Re: KK, river decision
Hmmm you're probably right, KQ probably wouldn't raise the river.

Re: KK, river decision
I don't think KQ three bets this very often. I want to get a bet in for value on this hand. I think your opponent has a worse pocket pair a lot. TT, JJ, 99. Checking the turn through pretty much eliminates AK and AQ unless he's getting really tricky, if so, well done.
I bet the river and hope he doesn't raise. If he does, I don't know what to do. |
