Default What to do with my jacks?

Live $3/6 Kill (9 handed)

Reads:
MP1 is laggy, but doesn't bet his draws, nor does he overplay AK
MP3 is tight passive preflop, mostly weak passive postflop, though she will bet/raise if she has a made hand

Hero is on the button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Preflop: UTG folds, UTG1 folds, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Hero 3-bets, SB folds, BB folds, MP1 calls, MP3 calls

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Pot: (10 SB)

MP1 bets, CO calls, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, CO calls, Hero caps, MP1 calls, CO calls

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] (3 players)
Pot: (11 BB)

MP1 bets, CO calls, Hero calls

River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [T:7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] F:T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] (3 players)

MP1 bets, CO folds, Hero... ?

i don't get it... i think the harder decision is on the the turn. if you're gonna fold, that would be the time to do it.

calling the turn obligates you to make a river call, especially since it just became HU.

If after capping the flop, you can't fold the turn, then you should certainly call the river. Perhaps capping the flop is, oh let's say, spewing.

Yeah, I thought I was probably spewing there.

To be fair to myself, I didn't have a decent read on MP1 until after this hand.

What I found most surprising about this hand was that MP3 folded Queens FACE UP on the river.

So aside from not capping the flop, should I fold the turn?

Well to answer that...exactly what card were you looking for on the river that makes the call easier if you weren't planning on calling down after the turn? If you're only calling when you hit your set then you certainly didnt have the odds to draw to your 2 outer on the river. Either fold the turn or call down.

If the LAG has shown this level of aggression previously with TPTK, then calling this down looks alright. Especially since he may think he is representing the made flush with that turn bet.

I agree, especially since the river was a non-diamond. The only hand we're reasonably ahead of is an aggressive player with either A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Tx or, less likely K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Tx. If you call the turn you can really only fold to a river diamond.

If he's 3-betting the flop and you've decided to take it to the river how bout calling his flop 3 bet, raising the turn and taking a free showdown?

You might have the best hand. If you get 3 bet on the turn you can safely fold. CO might fold a Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or a K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or a better hand. Any big diamond that wants to stick around gets charged the max. You're putting in the same amount of bets since you are calling any non-diamond river anyway
