I don't know how "liberal" you consider yourself, but the casual way you advocate "pulling the plug" is quite disturbing. This guy wasn't exactly selling nuke secrets to North Korea. He was found fighting against the Northern Alliance, not the US army. There is no evidence he participated in the prison revolt, nor is there evidence that he was implicated in the Johnny Spann murder. I think he will get some jail time and that's it.


As for the Abu Jamal case, I don't know what this has to do with John Walker at all. I do know that from what I have read about the original trial that it was badly botched, both by Jamal's own lawyers and by the judicial system. I am very uncomfortable executing a man based on a botched trial, especially when in the last 26 years 84 death row convictions have been overturned.


In general, I find the casual way people in here refer to "bombing" and "pulling the plug" on people quite disturbing.
