Default Texas Yee Haw- Texas Talk

Many claim (and rightfully so) that people in Texas have a language and attitude all their own. below are some of the words and their Texan pronouciations followed by the words all you others use.(typed out for all "yawl" who are hooked on phonics.)

arncha - inquiry concerning the addressee's plans. (aren't you)

brayke - to seperate into pieces by force/ adevice used to stop motion (1.break, 2. brake)

captul - the seat of government (capitol, or capital)

dja - an affirmative inquiry (did you)

frunt - opposite of back (front)

guf - a large body of water (gulf)

ha - upper elevation / a state of inebriation (high)

ignernt - without knowledge (ignorant)

janes -apparel (jeans)

kinduh - an approximation or nearly (kind of)

lot - instrument or element which emits brightness (light)

mawl - a center, normally covered, used for shopping (mall)

nuthun - the opposite of something (nothing)

opsit - completely different (opposite)

playze - a polite request (please)

rot -opposite of left/ correct (right)

thuh - principle modifier of nouns, an article

ustah - expression when in the past an act was or was not performed (used to)

victray - a triumph (victory)

wender - an opening in a wall to let in the breeze and light (window)

I hope that this helps close the language gap between our countries.
