In neither hand did you excercise pot control really.



In hand 1 you min bet on the flop, called a tiny raise and then check/called the rest of the way.

In hand 2 you made a tiny raise on the flop and check/called the rest of the way.



In hand 1 you should have bet 400 and faced a pot commiting situation which is when you decide to stay in til the river or fold.

In hand 2 you should have put the short stack all in or folded. Here again you were pot commited if you put any more chips in.
