Well, I would personally play both hands differently.
Hand #1 -- I would raise when I'm first in the pot with 4XBB while they are that small. Limping is perfectly acceptable, of course. TT is way to vulnerable to overcards, and I want to limit the field.
Hand #2 -- I like the pre-flop raise when you're on the button with limpers, but not the amount that you raised the pot. I would have made it about 200, and since your chip stack is about 575, I would've just pushed all-in preflop.
