I don't think the average person can sucessfully be taught
to win at poker.
If you disagree, look to your local card barn and guess what percentage of players are actually beating the game long-term.
Winning poker requires not only a certain intelligence, but psychological traits such as remaining disciplined in the face of adversity. Most people just don't have what it takes overall to beat poker--plus, it is a negative-sum game which pretty much ensures that most people have to lose in the long run.
Good luck with your academy, though.
