I think you are thinking about it the wrong way. Just because 72o isn't more than a 5:1 dog to any two cards (except maybe 77), doesn't mean that it's playable. The 5:1 that you speak of is hot and cold odds (no more betting). It doesn't mean that you are less than 5:1 to get a flop that puts you in a +ev position. I believe that's how you should be looking at it.
Will I be in a +ev position 1/6th of the time on the flop?
Maybe, maybe not. Personally, I would probably complete if I was fairly certain the BB wouldnt get out of line. If the BB raises, I muck on the 2nd go around.
