Your thought process got me through the third bet, but he examined his cards and the board again before coming back over the top of me.
And the check was to induce bets from aces. Yes, I really thought he had either AK or AJ. Then he looked at his cards, and I got a little suspicious.
As for the betting cap, well, it's either 5 bets, or unlimited. I'm not sure, as 3 got to the river, and I haven't gone that many there.
