This is what I've been doing as well.
People will try to steal with all sorts of hands from you in 6max. You're probably ahead and hope to dodge the bullets until you get to the river. A little extra aggression on the early streets could get him to fold the turn, saving one card to dodge.

I am not sure a player with 83 VP$IP is aware of the concept of the stealing.
