Is Online Poker that much tougher than B&M? Like I said, I don't seem to have problems in RL, but I find it hard to believe I am facing better competition when I regularly get beat by 83 off catching a second pair on the river..I am not complaining, it's just hard for me to believe that the competition is better.


The type of game can shift very quickly online, especially at $0.5-$1. Are you perhaps having problems with the loose, aggressive type of game where maybe three players are in most pots, often raising, even reraising each other? Maybe you are more used to weak tight games? The point is, leave games that you are not comfortable in. Roy Cooke had an excellent articel on this in the latest issue of Card Player. Badger also had an interesting article on a related subject recently.


You do not say where you play, but I'm guessing Paradise. Paradise $0.5-$1 is "tough" in its own way. The type of game at a table can shift in the extremes. You have to adapt or find another table if you don't know how to. Also, in the last two weeks alone, I have played against more than 2,000 different opponents! Often many of the players at your table are completely unknown to you. You have to size them up quickly. Not always easy on the internet.
