first hand was fine. maybe that guy will be less inclined to go after your blinds later in the game. you can consider check-raising the flop. ps i hate seeing JT on the flop when i have aces. it makes me want to vomit.
the call out of the small blind with two limpers and a raise indicates more than a little strength. he just has to have a big pair here, in my opinion. i actually am shocked that it was as low as queens, since i can't imagine making that play with less than kings. i probably would have lost all my chips as well, pushing PF.
