There is Nothing Worse ...
than hearing a horse-player bad beat story.
In cards, there is only one real way you can initiate a bad-beat ... the suckout.
In horses, there are infinite reasons why the horse does not come in and you will hear just about every one of them ... long before the friggin race is even over.
Its a loser's mentality and it drives me nuts.
To top it off, no matter what race, track, day, etc. the horse that wins is almost ALWAYS the one the player WAS GOING TO PICK, but for ... yawn.
Then, of course, after the race, you get to hear about how the race was fixed, how the jockeys were in on the super-fecta ("that's why the payout was so low ... insiders jumped on the fix"); how there should be an inquiry why there should not.
Bring back the poker bad beats ... you don't know what you got, till its gone...
