I'll just give the percentages and save the context for the rare case in which anyone is interested .

1) UTG folds and you have A9o in UTG+1
Raise 85%, limp 5%, fold 10%
2) Folded to you in CO with K9o
Raise 90%, fold 10%
3) Folded to you at the button with K8o
Raise 90%, fold 10%
4) Folded to you in CO with QTo
Raise 75%, fold 25%
5) Folded to you in CO with JTo
Raise 70%, fold 30%
6) Folded to you at the button with JTo
Raise 90%, fold 10%
7) 1 limper and you have JTs at the button
Raise 80%, limp 20%
8) 2 limpers and you have JTs at the button
Limp 90%, raise 10%

I'm very interested to see what others think about #8. The others are pretty standard I think, and the only way I won't go with the percentage play is if I am running poorly/need an image change.

I'll go along with these just about the way they are, including #8.

In general I'll raise less from the BT since I already have position. I'd be more likely to raise the JTs from the CO (following 2 limpers) to try and buy the BT, and possibly knock out the blinds. If they come along that's OK as well. I now have a raised pot with a good multi-way hand.

It's a hand that plays well in a shorthanded game, as long as you're carefull postflop.

I almost always raise all of them.

I might fold A9o in UTG+1, and if my steal attempts have went awry I'll fold K8o on the button.

To the people that fold JTo and QTo: flopping high pairs has tremendous value HU. As does fold equity your flop bets can receive on A-high flops. It seems ridiculously tight to me to even think about folding these hands from the CO or button instead of opening with them.

JT after limpers [Re: Schneids]
      #1318120 - 11/29/04 03:18 PM

Is the raise of JTs in the CO/button after two limpers purely a raise-for-value thing? Buy yourself a card on the flop thing? Both?

What do you do with JTo in this spot?

Hi all,

I was going through my database and I found some hand that's I'm losing with which I raise sometimes in certain positions. Now I've only got about 117K hands shorthanded but I would like to know what you do. Give some % about raise/call/fold.

1) UTG folds and you have A9o in UTG+1
2) Folded to you in CO with K9o
3) Folded to you at the button with K8o
4) Folded to you in CO with QTo
5) Folded to you in CO with JTo
6) Folded to you at the button with JTo
7) 1 limper and you have JTs at the button
8) 2 limpers and you have JTs at the button

I know these are all close situations but I would like to know what you do in general.

Thanks,

Guido

1 is table dependant, 50/50 raise/fold
2-7 are raise
8 I call

I just checked my database and I am losing with all of these from all positions.

Can I conclude that I suck yet?

Guy.
