yet another preflop poll
      #1005821 - 09/09/04 02:48 AM

I've just started playing sh games. Instead of the usual what would you do in these spots I'm making variables so it's "for what values of x would you raise, fold, or call."

Assume 5 or 6 typical players unless noted.

1. Open raised in CO, button 3 bets, in SB you have a pair of x (below I will shorten this to xx, note that x = x as it is everywhere except 2+2)
2. mp open limps folded to you on button with xx
3. mp open limps, your on button with Kxo
4. co open limps you have Kxo in sb
5. co open limps you have Axs on button
6. you have xx utg
7. with xx utg you raise, folded to LAG bb who 3 bets
8. you have a one gap suited connector UTG (ex. KJs, 75s)
9. two limpers, you have Kxo in sb
10. two limpers you have Axo in sbA6o sb
11. 1 limper, you have 33 on button
12. co open raises you have Axs on button
13. Kxo in sb, everybody limps

these are my answers for party 5/10....
note: add "or equal to" to all my > and < symbols
1.x<7 fold, x=8 or 9 call,x>10 raise
2.fold if x<5, call if x is 6 or 7, riase if x>8
3.raise if x>T,fold all others
4.call if x>8, raise if Q or higher.
5.raise if X>6, otherwise call
6.raise if x>7, limp if x is 4 5 or 6, fold 2 and 3 (ya ya ya, i know, i hate open limping as much as the next guy and those are the ONLY two hands i do it with)
7. cap with 99 or higher, call others
8.easy fold
9.same as #4
10.call any, raise if x>10
11.fold unless blinds are tihgt and limper is tight PF, then raise
12.fold if X<8,call if x=9, riase all others
13.call any, riase if x=Q,K or A

i think these are my answers anyways, although alot can be player dependant.

i'm used to x being any card 9 or below and that has nothing to do with 2+2 - is x a rank challenged card ? - if so my answer is it depends how challenged

x normally denotes a rag but here I'm saying any card below the other listed if there is one. So Kxo refers to KQ down to K2 and xx refers to AA - 22.

the x = x bit is just an observation that people often list a flop as Axx when not referring to a paired board.

for party 10-20

1 TT 4 bets, 99 - 22 fold
2 66 raise 55 borderline, prob fold
3 KT raise, K9 fold
4 KT raise, K9 complete, K8-K6 may complete if opponents are very bad
5 raise though I may hold my nose with some of the lower x's
6 77+ raise, 66-55 fold 70% raise 30%, 44 fold
7 4 bets with TT+, call ther rest
8 raise QTs, fold J9s 80%, raise 20%
9 KT, K9 complete, KJ raise
10 A2-A4 fold, A5-A9 complete, AT+ raise. I may be more cautious than usual post flop if I miss flop with these raises from SB
11 fold
12 ATs 3 bets, A9s fold
13 K9-KJ complete, KQ raise
