Re: Purely Formulaic SNG
It seems like the difficult part would be weighting the results of the ICM computations against the likely results of an action. It's difficult to put people on a range of call hands at this level,...

Re: Purely Formulaic SNG
Care to discuss the general concept (strictly in regards to actual play)? The idea of formulaic bubble play seems complicated to me as a successful ring player and a semi-green SNG player.

Purely Formulaic SNG
What do you folks think of the possibility of making a profit a the 10+1, 20+1 (say, 5-10% ROI) with nothing more than a player-ignorant decision tree?
A purely formulaic approach.
Think it's...

Re: Fire a third barrel?
Thanks for the replies--just as I suspected.
I felt relieved, not accomplished, after this hand--hence the urge to post it.
I agree that it was probably a missed flush draw. The sad thing is,...

Re: Fire a third barrel?
In terms of the preflop raise, I was kind of playing the tempo of the table--I do that a lot 6max.I'm kind of LAGgy (36% flops, 9% PFR). That was supposed to be my turn to pick up a pot on the flop....

Fire a third barrel?
I was on lunch break, so no real reads. Had been sitting for about 5 mins. On the turn, both checks had that distinctive quickness, which had something to do with how I played this hand through.

You\'ve been reraised.
Top pair is almost surely not good any more!
There. Now if only I could get that into my head.

Ever count outs you don\'t have?
Villian was playing very conservatively.. I think I felt him trying to charge my 'flush draw' without scaring me off of it. He wasn't charging me quite enough so I decided to count the str8 outs and...

Re: 15/30 NL Holdem 3 hands for review
I guess that's the issue with playing with scared money (not in a derogatory sense, but in a practical one... you probably couldn't play on if you went broke here): additional considerations outside...

Re: Well played KK?
Nothing really to say... one of em probably had rockets or stupidly AK and spiked an ace.
I'd say the reason for never folding KK P/F is twofold: you'll get paid off consantly by worst hands and...

Re: Tough JJ on the turn - Party $100 NL
Really tough.. not sure.
So hard without a read... I HATE getting smooth called on two streets in a row with a hand good enough to get in trouble but not necessarily way ahead. Looks like he is...

Re: Tough JJ on the turn - Party $100 NL
Hm that's a lot of smooth calling.. did you get any timing tells? i.e. were the smooth calls slow and thoughtful or quick and impatient?
I think this may be a questionably played QQ-AA on the...

Re: Two flopped sets.
I don't think it's too tough.. you either flop the overpair or the set and start putting chips in or you don't and you can check/fold.
