Re: New Experience For Me...Could Use Feedback

You've got 3 choices:
1. Quit playing this stupid game and get a life :P
2. Wait for better cards.

Re: Will there ever come a time when poker won\'t make me nervous?

DO you play NL or Limit?
NL is definitely ulcer material, which is why I prefer it..lol
Just play limit--it shouldn't make you nervous--it's a very mechanical game, and it shouldn't cause much...

Re: I am considering just to limp with AK early for now on early

I hate AK....
RIght now I raise it maybe 2 1/2x..big enough to scare trash, normal enough to keep in weaker As & Ks, which I figure to beat.
If you get it very early, people often think you're on a...

re the hot hand:
As a musician, I can tell you reams about muscle memory. It's not a theory-it's a fact. That's what practice is creating.

Re: Someone Jumped the All-in before I could!! What to do?

I read a big bet at an Ace as a protection bet from a EP pre-flop raiser..unless you think he'll make same bet regardless of holding.
I don't like the 54h
even if you make your flush, you're going...

Re: call all-in with AK

Obviously, it's not the type of table that respects 5xBB..lol..do any, any more?
I think you're right about the size of your preflop bet--on that table, at least. You've been left...

Re: Folding AA + flush draw to all in early. Weak?

Nice post Chris.
THis is the type of calculation I'd like to be able to do at the table when in a tough spot.
Is that possible? What sort of math do you need to be able to whiz through this train...

How do you deal with Mr. All-In?

I get this a lot--and am unsure how to handle it, so would appreciate your input!
It's very late/mid tourney, and you have about 20+BB. Final table is 2 tables away. Your table is getting very...

Re: AKs - Call or Push? 12 players left

You've definitely got a point about the callers behind.
If there's an aggro big stack behind..you may be in trouble.
Smaller stacks would probably fold--as he says it's been super-tight up to then.

Re: AKs - Call or Push? 12 players left

I'd call. It's a big chunk of your stack, but if you flop an A or K against his probable PP, it's good. On a blank flop, I fold. If it's AA,KK--you're dead but odds against it.
I wouldn't push...

Re: what would u do here deep in tourney

depending on the size of the other stacks, i make a huge raise which leaves me enough to survive on if it turns out badly--say 6k.
weak hands fold just as fast i think. a rag ace hitting the flop is...

Re: The Broken Wing Act

with only 2 possible hands to beat you, i think the slow play is right here.
AJ might give an indication pre flop, and J9 will raise the river, so I think you're as safe as you'll ever be here.

Re: TT HU overcard

hmmmmm..why would he raise on the 4d?
2 possible reasons
1. He's put you on a flush draw (holding a K himself he WOULD tend to think you're a flush draw)--i would tend to eliminate HIM as a flush...

Re: Folded AK preflop. Thoughts?

I agree with woodguy--I'd probably fold here..putting the guy on a big PP. I don't like getting half my chips in the middle on the first hand with AK..the most treacherous hand in poker! lol..
