Re: Tony G making a great recovery after going bust at WSOP

It should be Tony G.

We have him on top of our leaderboards for season 3 at WPT Insider.

Re: Pushing with a short stack

Hi,

it depends on your image, your opponents and your history with them. If the conditions are right, then pushing here is fine. And being suited really does not change anyting.

As for your...

Re: best tourney book?

Hi,

the perfect book has still not been published. But TPFAP is by far the best to really get an idea on how to adjust your play to tournaments.

Cloutier's book is ok, if you are starting out....

Great Post

Great post John.

I second everything.

I don't know Greg as well as you do, but one thing that always striked me was that when you have a conversation with Greg, you'll learn something about...

Re: Official Greg \"Fossilman\" Raymer Tourney Report

Hi all,

like always, Greg shows how good he is.

And just to avoid confusion, this trip report is from his World Poker Tour at Foxwoods, not the WSOP.

After all, it is the WPT Insider. :-)...

Re: gus is one lucky SOB

Hi,

I think watching WPT events on TV proves some points.

First, poker tournaments have a huge amount of luck in them. Not taking away anything from Gus, he's an excellent player. But to...

Re: Stack Building 101

Really, the best approach is to play your normal ring game strategy. This means playing draws when odds are there and playing as aggressive. Moreover, you should play even more aggressive because...

Re: Can I fold aces here?

Hi,

No, you can't. You really don't have enough info on your opponent to fold considering the stacks. And especially not on Party.

Hi,

I think the key here is how well you play after the flop and how good you are at sensing that you are beaten even if you flop top pair. Obviously, Daniel, Howard, Gus, Jennifer and Phil play...

Re: Question

Hi,

it really depends. If his opponent bet a good amount, then it might be best to fold. Not because you don't draw in tournaments, that's not true, but because the odds he was getting were not...

Re: TDA Rules Questions

Hi,

Rule 3. Suppose in Omaha 8 you have a high hand and I have a low hand. First thing you do is split the pot in 2. If there is an odd chip then you get it because you have the high hand.

Re: Is it right to just get it all in on the flop here ?

Hi,

300 sounds good. You actually want him to call, as he does not have the odds to call with a flush draw, even with one overcard. Then, you bet the rest on the turn.

If a diamond turns, and...

you made mistakes, but it's not what you think. first, I would have raised more preflop, especially with QQ. Second, I would have moved all-in on the flop, since betting 3500 leaves you with...

Re: Three situations: would you call here?

Hi,
