Re: Getting near the bubble. Fold or play.

I think you're looking to keep the pot relatively small here because the risk reward is just to great. If Bob gets out flopped that's it - it'll be over on just one hand. But if he wins he's almost...

Re: Getting near the bubble. Fold or play.

Howzit Bob,
Looks like you shoulda folded this one. He has you covered, you're in the end game, and you have a much better chance of getting into the top ten than the short stacks. If you happend...

Re: OK, OK before you get all nuts + the RESULTs

Just so you know I'm not a complete idiot. If it were a cash game I would have bumped it a bit more PF. And once EP made a small probing bet, I would've made a significant raise on the flop. And if...

Re: How much is too much to call with an AA overpair?

Yeah, not raising was the big problem here which created problems later in the hand. I wouldn't have had to post this otherwise.

Re: How much is too much to call with an AA overpair?

Yeah, I see how the absence of a raise on the flop created a multitude of problems. This is the first time I've tried not raising. It doesn't seem to work so well.

Re: How much is too much to call with an AA overpair?

Well, I put him on top pair up until the turn. But then he sets me all in when a K hits the river. So I figure my read must have been wrong and he must've flopped a set or turned a 7. Why's preflop...

Re: results...

Would you have folded even to a minimum raise of t1000? He wouldn't have to make you fold very often for it to be profitable (Edit - if he were bluffing).

How much is too much to call with an AA overpair?

2nd level of Party $20NL. One EP limper. I have t960 and raise to t60 with AA in MP. One LP calls as well as originial limper.

Flop comes T75 rainbow and EP (stack of t1350)leads with t30. I want...

Re: Steal attempt from button...Bad Play?

Looks like you didn't have many chips left after your PF raise anyway. I suppose if you were going to try a move it would've been much more effective on the flop, and you had a number of outs if...

Re: Interesting river decision

You mean leading for a 1/4 of the pot? No, in this hand I don't think its worth the risk of trying to get a worse hand to call when you may have potentially run into a bigger hand on the river.

Re: OK, I\'m sick of busting out in these MTT.

In a cash game I don't play AQo early either much less AJ. But in these touny's I feel as if I should at least be trying to see flops since quality hands don't come up often enough to compensate for...

Re: Do you just push with KK preflop?

Rush is right. And I didn't care that the KK got snapped. It's happened so many times that I'm desensitized (somewhat anyway). I'm interested in what the best action should be given these often...

Everyone is of the opinion to NOT push all in. So, I will not - well most of the time /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Not that it matters for long term results, but I played a Stars tourny this...

Re: Do you just push with KK preflop?

Sounds scary to me especially with KK's, and a couple of players seeing the flop. What if an A comes, and someone pushes or makes a sizeable bet in front of you? Or do you only push when it's checked...

Re: Do you just push with KK preflop?

Hey Rush,
I thought a stop and go, by Raymer's definition, places you in early position? Doesn't it go something like: there's a raiser and you're sitting in the blinds with the probable best hand,...

Waialua, huh? I played in one of those Waialua tournaments about a year ago and it was horrible. The blinds doubled every round and there were so many absolute beginners that they slowed down the...

On hand 3, it was ok to limp, but wrong to fold for 100.
The implied odds you are getting makes it a very basic correct play to call.

Re: Part Deux

Easy fold. Hero's differential of hands that strassa2 could possibily play places enough doubt of hero being ahead that he should just fold. What are you hoping that strassa2 has IF you call? Lower...

Would you open the AJ up front later in the tourny when players get tighter?

Re: OK, I\'m sick of busting out in these MTT.

I agree. The beginning levels of the small Party tourny's seem to be consistently loose, so I nearly always limp with small pockets to try and hit that set.
