Re: Too aggressive with chip lead?

Pushing with top pair on the bubble on a rainbow flop is never too aggressive. Especially since he has given you NO indication of strength.

Besides, you'd still be alive if things go for the...

Even a check min-raise from a stack that big?

Re: I suck....

What's with the min-raise? If I were the big-stacked BB, I would not just call you, but I would come down hard on your ass. (depending on read, natch) At least get 3X BB in there, maybe four.

Re: Did I miss a steal opportunity?

I don't know what is correct, but on #1 I would push and I would fold on #2. Both moves are entirely read-dependent.

Re: What are the worst flops for AK?

Fair dinkum. More variance than I like since I only play a couple STTs a day.

Re: What are the worst flops for AK?

Why push? Seems I see players get knocked out in the early stages constantly by trying this kind of goofiness. Some fish will call, maybe more than one, and beat you with some nutty holding. Why...

Re: Zero-Sum game theory and equilibrium

He had a 19% chance to win pre-flop - not exactly a bad beat in my book. You did the right thing and got nailed - it happens, get over it.

Re: small pocket pair heads up

Seems to me that calling UTG with a small pocket pair is asking for trouble . . . unless you believe in the power of presto thing.

You grabbed the initiative and kept it, but was it worth it? ...

2 things -

Stack sizes?

You bet 60 into a 545 pot and want 4 people to fold?

Re: Tricky TT

Open-raise that TT!!!!!!! You say that UTG+2 is too loose/aggressive - GREAT! He re-raises, you think the button & blinds are sticking around for three? You must isolate here.

Re: another pokergenius-hand

I would call, not raise, the turn. Although I think you ended up putting the same amount of bets in in the end because your turn raise kept the SB from betting the river.

I agree with eMarkM here - and I have about the same qualifications as he does. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I did some rough "back of the napkin" calculations and came up with a 19.8% chance of...

Cool! They're both nuts. Call 'em down with good hands on a regular basis.

Re: QQ hand

Well now you know UTG+2 is a nut. Before you know that, however, you have to respect his raise on the flop and his re-raise pre-flop (assuming you know nothing about him). Slow down and just call...

Re: I got a big weed stash, pocket full of cash....

I agree, you need info on what his raise means. Was he slowplaying or did he just hit? Does he sense a hesitancy in you and is testing (with a bluff)?

Re: Online $3/6, how weak is my river play?

But will he get called by hands he can beat? Or only by hands that beat him? Will two pair lay down here for a bet? (I wouldn't!)

Re: SB KTo steal

The moment you step off the gas, the steal fails. C'mon, he didn't even raise you back. Unless you have a great read, why let him take control of the hand?

Re: should the ace frighten the bejeezus out of me?

Depending on where you played and what limits, I think you played it fine. As far as betting on the river goes, it depends on your read of the player.

Bet you got beat by Ace-junk. I smell a...

Re: What to do...

#1 - move to another table.

Failing #1, you must either tighten up (which you did) or loosen up. HOWEVER, if you loosen up, you MUST be very good at post-flop play and at reading people.

If...
