Re: Mistake to push with this set?

if he had QT of diamonds, you're 30% to win. QT offsuit, 35% to win. flush+inside straight draw, you're 70% to win. so basically, if you're pretty sure he doesn't have QT, this isn't a matter of...

Re: Misclick .. turned a hand (with action)

i'm calling here and raising the river, expecting to showdown against probably trips. i'd bet he wanted to checkraise the flop and regrets giving another card so now he's making up for it with the...

Re: How to play against limpers who have big pairs

it is smart to limp big pairs in short handed situations, especially if people are being aggressive and you can count on a raiser after you. aka you. call or push preflop with small pp.

to combat...

Re: JJ on friendly board

i can definitely see aa/kk here. the reraise to 9 gave him odds to stop and go regardless of the flop.

You got yourself messed here with the reraise. I think there is a chance here that he has a...

Re: Nasty River in large pot.....keep leading?

hmm. you're pretty much f'd. i think you have to check here. if both were drawing which i think they were, then they'll be checking the river. i don't think they could make a play at it when its so...

Re: What makes a good 4th and 5th street player?

IMO there are a couple relatively simple rules to follow to help guide your post-flop.

-generally, if you're getting reraised on the turn/river, you should have a set or better. reraises...

Re: Party NL50 compared to NL25

50 is definitely tighter than 25. I've heard you're better off moving from 25 to 100 than to 50, just because most of the rocks stop at 50, but haven't experimented myself to be able to tell you...

Re: Flopped pair and nut flush draw.

yes check the turn. free cards are good when you're behind and drawing.

Just be glad you're not 'that guy' who gets a pair and a flush draw and think they're ahead and push ASAP. WTF? You are a...

Re: Tournaments vs Ring

in general, ring games are all about waiting on good hands, while tournaments are all about being aggressive. in the ring, there is no time limit, you're not going to bust out if you fold 100 hands...

reraise preflop, bet flop. no need to slowplay against loose people.

or, raise with premium hands to drive out speculative hands, AND raise with speculative hands to make other speculative hands think you have a premium hand?
your speculative hands will not come out...

Re: Lay Down My Boat?

wow some of you don't understand the logic of calling with pocket pairs. I'll call away up to 1/10th of my (or their, whichever is smaller) stack preflop with a pocket pair. You'd have to put nearly...

Re: Stats Post from a \"successful\" LAG

if you find yourself at 12 you need some testicular fortitude. the lowest flop seen % i've heard anyone super successful have is 15-16%. i prefer to run closer to 18-20.

The successfull LAG's i...

Re: should I sometimes push this flop?

i think calling here with KQs is a so-so move. if you can get away from it at all the right times and make it payoff when you hit big, i think you can probably make it +EV, but only marginally. i'm...

Re: What do you make of this 3-bet?

i forgot garland did act for the first time after the raiser, so i think aa/kk are safely out, but qq is possible, but i think that calling here would get you so much more money most of the time than...

Re: What do you make of this 3-bet?

put it in context. if you had jj, a couple people before you called, you raised, then they called again, are you putting them on aa/kk/qq?

Re: What do you make of this 3-bet?

someone with JJ, would possibly just check/call, but if they bet would almost certainly just call after getting reraised. They could be re-raising because they're scared of the flush draw, but with...

Re: A Pair of Queens

tough because betting got big early. turn is a push or fold situation imo, any significant bet and you're pot committed. i'm guessing mp1 was drawing, and CO had you beat.
