Re: Oregon area 2+2 meet up, lets Gamboooolllll!!!!!!!1

Sounds good for Spirit Mtn. Don't know who's in the Portland/Vancouver area but if anyone ever wants to do a LaCenter trip, PM me. Last time I went, about 2 mos. ago, the waits were ridiculous, 2...

Re: Std TPTK against LAG?

Thanks, I know it's probably a basic question for this forum but I gotta start by learning the basics. Good explanation.

Re: Std TPTK against LAG?

Ok, thanks for the explanation (you too Scott). I really have to readjust my thinking about TPTK.

Re: Std TPTK against LAG?

So you're saying this is considered a way ahead or way behind kind of play from your perspective? I'm guessing probably not. Is your TPTK hand considered marginal or you're expecting his hand is...

Re: Std TPTK against LAG?

This is my inexperience with NL showing but why the turn check? In limit this would be an easy value bet with TPTK.

I see a lot more turn checks in NL and I don't get the reasoning behind them.

Re: Small Stakes NL winrates really this high?

From what I'm reading, it sounds like it. But, also sounds like taking the time to learn will pay huge dividends.

Re: Small Stakes NL winrates really this high?

Thanks for the FAQ link.

Are there enough LAGs to keep these NL games good? Seems like you're market would dry up quicker as they dump stack after stack.

Small Stakes NL winrates really this high?

I've just recently started browsing this forum having spent most of my time playing 2/4 to 3/6 limit and reading the SS limit forum so excuse my newbie naivete. I was just reading another thread...

Re: Turned top set, 3 flush on board...

Is he tricky enough to be raising a one card nut flush draw on the turn? Maybe he had A /images/graemlins/spade.gif other broadway. With top set I'd be hard pressed not to reraise. If he caps,...

Re: Misplayed KTs

Good point. I was just thinking back to the SSH example you cited and Ed's response to Jim Brier. Even if we knew the bettor had us beaten, a raise could knock out MP3 and increase our winning...

Re: Misplayed KTs

Why no flop raise? Would anyone else consider this? Big pot, middle pair, BD flush, protecting your hand by raising a bet on your right?

Re: AKo - Let go too easily

I must have had a mental lapse. Don't even know why I didn't 3 bet preflop. This is standard for me. Assuming I did, Would you have raised UTG if he bet out on the flop. I think that would be...

Too passive and too aggressive with AKs - A few hands

I'm reviewing Poker Tracker last night and see that I'm losing money with AKs. Not much but it's still a net loser. This can't be right, meaning I'm misplaying it somehow. I know it's when I don't...

Stop and Go - When do you use it and why?

I don't grasp the ideal situations to use this play - call a raise with a strong hand then then lead out next round. Any guidelines or situations?

55, good position, checked to me on flop...

I think I was way too weak here but it's a small pair for crying out loud.

Honesty don't have any reads but let's assume they're all around 35% VP$P. Sounds about right from memory.

My gut...

AKs too aggressive on the turn

Nothing overly spectacular about this hand other than my turn 3 bet and lead out on the river which I question. I wish I had my realtime game window up but I had just sat down at this table and it...

Re: Give credit for a set?

Yeah, but if he's tight preflop he could have AQo, AQs, or KQs in which case you're still ahead and losing out on value bets?

These are tough situations that I struggle with also. I never know at...

Re: JTs - another mess of a hand.

preflop - I might have liked to see one more caller in between to make that cold call but I think it was ok, esp. if he was LAG.

Flop - Think it's a good value/free card raise here. Only 6 clean...

Re: 99 and no idea what I\'m doing

Why not bet the turn? Isn't the flush what we were hoping for?

Not saying your play was wrong. I'm just wondering about the check.
