Re: UB20k - How bad did I play this AK?
I have to admit to being unsure of where I was on the turn, and wasn't checking to setup the C/R. When his raise came out small, I didn't put it on a value raise, but rather quickly thought that...

Re: UB20k - How bad did I play this AK?
I play a lot by feel, but I imagine if I probed and saw a call, I'd slow down. I'd expect I'd check the turn, but unless I'm reading QQ here, I'm probably getting my chips in if he raises.
The...

Re: Someone with good knowledge of Harrington...
No a harrington expert, but I've read is books.
wrt to suited connectors and PP's, I think his point is that you can't limp these and play them for value as you don't have enough chips to be payed...

Re: UB20k - How bad did I play this AK?
Thanks Will. Good insight which I'll take to heart. His check on the flop should have told me I'm way ahead or way behind, and thus I should maybe be probing the flop to define my spot, vs checking...

Re: UB20k - How bad did I play this AK?
Agree fully. I was playing great and had visions of a 2-6k payout entering my head and thus have been killing myself thinking about this hand.
Villian coming over the top preflop, but not...

UB20k - How bad did I play this AK?
Down to 18 from 210 on the 20k at UB tonight.
I've been top 3 or so for most of the tourney, and likley seen as pretty tight if I have any image at all. Just had KK busted by AQo 4-5 hands ago...

Re: Final table strategy please help!
Are you saying you made the final table in 10 of your last 10? Thats way impressive. I'd be very interested in hearing your tips on mid tourney play. (I'm assuming these are 250+ player fields)

Re: NC: Rant. I am a donk.
Ouch. Much empathy here bro.
I often get waxed overthinking blind confrontations and get myself all-in putting villain on way to big a range.
Lately I've tighted up in these spots and its...

Re: RESULTS
I think this is a little results oriented in my mind. In any case, coin flipping with the chip leader (which is plus or minus 5% what the set of ranges you might put him on is likely to produce) is...

Re: All-In vs. Chip Leader?
Any random hand will beat you 40% of the time and your a slight to medium dog to PP's and A/bigger kicker. Even putting leader on a big range, other than Asmall, I'm not thrilled with putting the...

A few pages later (really need to dig it up) he contradicts in a situation where you make a bet, then fold to a push over because irrespective of calling odds, the push over tells you that you are...

Good where to play thread? Stars vs Party etc?
I'm sure there is one out there? I can't seem to dig it up in the search and am new to this forum.
Otherwise, I'm looking to 4 table 100-200 NL games and wondering if I should play stars or...

HOH2 Musing
Don't have my book handy, but this concept is a bit general and I'd be interested in some feedback as I find it is a concept that challenges me.
Harrington describes a UTG hand where he finds 88...

Hehe. Thanks. Clearly, I'd be more than freaking thrilled to ram my chips into every 4:1 situation, regardless of pot odds.
However, my point wasn't about getting my chips in as much as the...

Playing Safer??
I'm in the Stars 10+1 Rebuy last night and find myself with t5100, at a full table where most stacks have me well covered. Av stack is near 10k.
I pick up KK and am third to act with blinds at...
