Re: Pro bios

Well if you read ALL of DN's articles on cardplayer, he pretty much starts at the beginning of his poker playing career. Don't know about anyone else though.

Re: WSOP Episode 1 Working Link

Speaking of torrents, anyone have a link to the nbc national heads up championship episode that had hellmuth vs. phillips? All I can seem to find is the final episode.

Flush draw turns into a pair

First off, I just took about 6 months off from playing at all, so I'm probably very rusty.

Re: Daniel N. first table of 2004 WSOP - WTF?

Dan's typical style of play is much more geared towards good players than bad. He definatly played poorly given the situation, but his comments immediately afterwards and what he's said about it...

Re: Why are you still in the micros?

I don't count as one of the "old guard," but I intend to keep playing 1/2 until I have 300BB for 2/4. I'm still about 80BB short.

Yeah, I suppose I'm making/saving money from his passivity either way. I just want to make sure that I'm not overlooking an egregious error, or even a slight one.

Re: Paired my weak kicker that further coordinated the board

I would also check the river, then call/fold depending on read. Sans read, I'd probably call anyways. He probably has you, but he could also be bluffing or have Q8/J8.

Re: Yeah... I flat called a raise with AKo....

I vote for 3-betting preflop. Whether you get capped or not tells you a lot about MP2's hand. You're out of position, but the flop is usually hit or miss for AKo (although in this instance you...

Re: Raise first in with 88 in MP?

If I'm in late position, and it's folded to me, I'll raise. You're already not going to get the odds to flop a set, and pocket 8's is good enough to take down a short handed pot often enough.

Re: Confusing TPTK hand

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think a recent downswing that I'm just now pulling out of has made me temporarily too timid. Fortunately, I'm feeling better now.

Re: Nut straight vs two-striped board - too aggressive?

Your turn is fine. You're going to win this hand well over 50% of the time. The Ts is one of the worst cards that could have fallen on the river, but it's definately worth another call to see the...

From what I've heard, learning 6max is invaluable to your game. It's where I am right now, though I throw in some full ring $1/2 and $2/4 as well.
