Re: Bet or check?

Two total calling stations = bet for value.

Hoboken, eh? I just graduated from Stevens in May. Unfortunately I had to move back to South Jersey while I look for a job, but hopefully I'll be...

Re: Pocket sevens with an overcard...

I'm not sure what you are accomplishing with your raise on the flop. Is this a value raise? If so, its a bad one. Its certainly not doing anything to protect either. All you're doing is building...

Re: Can I fold my overpair? Please?

Don't fold. You're only behind to QQ, JJ, a 3, or a river straight. All of these are pretty unlikely. You're pretty much only worried about two cards in the deck, the 3's. There are many hands...

Re: JJ vs SUPER LAG

"Even Super LAGs get aces and kings on occasion. The 3-bet on the turn was a little too much aggression IMO. "

I think the key words here are "on occasion." You're saying not to 3-bet, because...

Re: checking behind vs.... checking behind

Hand 1: I think you played it just fine. The question here is will he fold a better hand or call you with a worse one. I seriously doubt either of these will happen, so the check is good.

Hand...

Re: JJ vs SUPER LAG

Most of the time someone does that call-raise thing, they usually don't have anything too strong and just want to build the pot for fun. People seem to do this alot with a small pocket pair, because...

Re: Should I have folded the river of just called it down

I would bet the turn here. If someone 3-bets the flop, they're betting out on the turn if they still think their strong. A c/r makes no sense.

Re: AJo vs Limp ReRaise... LOL

Villain has nothing and he's hoping to take down the pot with a c/r bluff on the river.

Re: A9s in the SB

What if it gets checked through and a scare card doesn't hit? You missed several bets. If button raised preflop this play is perfect, you can be pretty sure of a bet here. With no raise, I don't...

Re: A9s in the SB

Your arguing symantics. It doesn't matter. You're saying that you'd rather have it checked through, so when it hits you can be happy you checked. But what about when it doesn't hit (The vast...

Re: A9s in the SB

Well, I assume you're saying that one of the callers either hit is gutshot or caught a third seven on the turn, but that is not the point. When I say they "have to" fold, I mean they "can't call...

Re: A9s in the SB

You said it yourself, that's weak-tight. The flush card will only hit the turn 20% of the time, so why are you so afraid of it?

Re: A9s in the SB

Gutshots definitely have to fold for one thing. Lower pocket pairs for another. Allowing this flop to be checked through is simply wrong. I stand by that.

Re: adjusting to online play

So I can expect noticably tougher competition online? I do usually play 3/6 live, and the competition is typically pretty poor.

Re: A9s in the SB

Play looks alright, but was there any reason to think the button was the likely bettor here? If it gets check through everyone just got infinite odds for any draw. Sure, your hand is vulnerable and...

Sorry, didn\'t notice the SB still behind you.

Good time to go for the overcall. Call the river, don't raise.

Re: I have TPTK--I don\'t understand villain\'s Line.

Who knows what this guy was thinking. He might have an ace or he could have gotten some crazy idea like the flop was a good time to bluff-raise. It could have been pocket 7s and he caught a miracle...

Re: Flush draws...

I don't think anyone mentioned the extra value of raising for a free card on the next round, even when you might not have enough pot equity to value raise.

Re: Money for nuthin...

That's just a bad idea. You're hand isn't nearly strong enough to raise in this position preflop with two under the gun callers in front of you.

Proper loose game adjustment???

Ok guys, help me out here. I was playing my usual 3/6 table in AC last night and I ran into a particularly loose table. By this I mean it was not uncommon to see 7 or 8 people cold-call an early...

Obviously I'm only behind to QQ and KK

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe I'm missing something here. Why are you behind to QQ or KK?
