Re: PARTY 100 NL HAND analysis needed

I think the turn check is fine.

After you raise it to $12 and he calls, I think he's got QJ, a weaker king or maybe two pair (I would expect a re-raise on the flop from KT).

I check the turn to...

Results: The River

River (~$16): Td
Villain open pushes, I may have got the bet-size wrong in the last post, I think was only $17 or so, but the point is he pushes.

The likely flush draw missed, and I feel a...

Passive play with position and low pair: The Turn

Turn (~$6): 5d
Villain leads for $5.

This pot-sized turn bet strikes me as rather large for this type of player.

Given my opinion that his $1 pre-flop raise meant actual strength, I put...

Passive play with position and low pair

Party Poker $25 NL 6-max (2-players)

Villain (SB): $25
Hero (BB): $25

Villain is the type of player that likes to run-over others. He's had no problem opening to $2 heads-up and making large...

Top and Bottom 2 on a draw heavy flop... interesting reasoning?

PP NL $25 (6-max)

The entire table is close to $25, with some who have more.

Pre-flop: I'm on the button with Td7h (yeah, probably a fold, and if not a fold, then a raise, but...).

UTG...

Re: Who folds TPTK here?

Dear Stronghands,

First of all, why don't you get the hand history right : P It was BUTTON (not CO) who bet $4 on the flop since CO folded pre-flop.

Second, it might be helpful if you...

Who folds TPTK here?

PP NL $25 (6-max)

Hero (~$45)
Villain (~$40)

I'm in the SB with AdJd. UTG folds, MP raises to $1, CO folds, Button calls, I call, BB calls.

Flop (~$4): Js5s3d
I check, intending to...

Re: Flopped the nuts... now what?

Thanks for the responses.

Under "normal" circumstances, leading out for pot or actually for more than pot is the play that I make.

To clarify a bit of my thinking: I opted for a check-raise...

Flopped the nuts... now what?

PP $25 NL (6-handed), I have the table covered.

I'm in the SB and there's a min-raise UTG, the entire table calls and I call with 79o.

Flop (~$3): The beautiful 68T rainbow.

I have 2...

Re: Aggression

At first, I didn't like your line, but your reasoning has convinced me. If you get called by an MP who checked, however, I think you need to check-fold any turn or river to said caller. Otherwise,...

Re: timing in betting

Timing could be a lot of things.

Slower times could be due to an opp multi-tabling, deciding what you have, deciding how much to bet, calculating odds, etc. Faster times could be obvious...

Re: Flopped Flush Gets Reraised

I'm interested to know how this hand-played out. I find spots like this (weak flush OOP facing a small re-raise) to be quite challenging.

If I were in your spot, I probably would lead at that...

What hands do you put villian on?

He just completed from the SB and then leads the spade flop for 150% of pot. I think he has a set of 9's. I think you only have 9 outs.
I don't know if you...

Thanks for your response. I think you're right... I should have bet pot (instead of overbetting) to keep everything under control and then fire out a reasonable test on the turn. As it stands,...

Re: got caught speeding

I can see villian having the Ac and making a semi-bluff after your check, but once you check-raise and he re-raises it seems more like he is trying to protect against a lone Ac or Kc drawing out...

Playing a weak overpair with position

Live home game. 5-handed. All relevant stacks are 50 BB's deep.

I'm in MP (UTG+1) with TdTh.

Pre-flop:
UTG calls. I make it 4.5 BB's to go. Table folds back to UTG who calls it.

Flop:...

A question of hand playability: my friend 52s

Okay, a buddy of mine and I were discussing a hand I played in $50 NL 6-max (5 players). All relevant stacks at $50. This hand is from memory, so bear with me, please.

I limp in late...

Re: Opinions on playing weak aces from late position?

Okay, it seems like people think Axo is too much of a trouble hand to play as a limp.

What are people's thoughts on the meta-game? (I am perhaps one of the few people who believe that my...

Opinions on playing weak aces from late position?

My friend and I are having a discussion regarding the Party 25 NL 6-max games.

I hold that in late position, limping in with weak aces (e.g. A3o, A2o) is positive expected value. It is not without...

Re: Home Game - Question on AA

Thanks for all of the responses so far.

Good point about the passive table. Yes, I do think the table was mostly passive. SB often tried to steal when he sensed weakness. Before I bet, I paused...
