Re: Hand from early in $30MTT with AKs
I would have played it the same way as the hero. The early tournament limp plus huge re-raise often signifies AA. With two other t125 callers, what else could the t600 raiser possibly have?

Re: The Most Influential Poker Book of All Time
Right now, it may very well be Hellmuth's "Play Poker Like the Pros." A work friend of mine bought the book. I told him to throw it in the trash.
The book which most influenced me was Sklansky's...

Buy both books today. Quit playing poker until you're read them several times. Seriously.
Save up for a larger bankroll, say several hundred dollars before playing those tournaments. ...

The idiot was the guy who called with A6. Two people show strengh on the flop and he calls? He either pressed the wrong button or is doing heavy amounts of crack.
The player with 55 played his...

Re: Folding TP/Q kicker on flop
Yes, you are either way behind or way ahead on the flop.
Normally, the other player would check on the flop if he held 22 or 88, especially with an ace on the flop. Why would he make an...

Re: AQs in BB L:1 50+5
Oh boy, people will min-raise with ANYTHING early in a single table tournament. Min-raising with AA or KK versus several limpers in the first round is ideal because then nobody will put the raiser on...

Re: AQs in BB L:1 50+5
AQ of clubs would be a 51.5% favorite on the flop versus one player holding 98 of diamonds and one player holding AK of spades. How's that for a concrete example!
However, against so many players...

Re: AQs in BB L:1 50+5
It's hard to fold AQs before the flop in that situation.
Your hand is an exercise with dealing with reverse implied odds. That is, your chances of winning the pot were inversely proportional to...

Re: Strangely Played Hand in 10K at Harrahs
I'd limp with AA because the blinds are small. Nobody would put me on AA in that spot. Why give my hand away with a pre-flop raise? If someone else raises before the flop I'd have options. If the...
