x0,000 Hand Slumps for Winning Players [graph]
http://www.xiphoid-design.com/poker_s.jpg
Four months ago I suffered a slump that I thought I would never see the end of. Variance, cold cards, and probably sub-optimal play aligned for a 20,000...

Re: problem with 2+2 website or just me
I haven't found a fix to the problem yet, but I'll let you know if I do. It gets annoying to turn it off just to browse 2+2 or switch to FireFox (which only displays the forums properly half the...

Re: Calling station or pot justified?
After seeing some alarms going off on a river bet that I thought was standard, it seems as if I'm following Miller's "call one river bet even if you're beat most of the times" mantra too much. The...

Re: Calling station or pot justified?
35% vpip, preflop raise is 12%.
I didn't have that great of a read, but got a feeling that this wasn't a horrible player, but not a good one either.

Re: July - My poker month from hell
I guess I haven't hit a floor this low before in my career. I've had numerous 150BB losses, but never nearing 300BB over 14,000 hands.
I'd like to raise my VP$IP to 18%, but I want to do it...

July - My poker month from hell

My month started at 85k hands on the graph and I guess you can see why I'm making this post. Never, in my few years of playing have I ever...

Re: K3 suited, big blind, on the flop
I usually bet out here on the flop as you could have the best hand at this point with top-pair. If you get raised, I think I would call one to see if I improve on the turn and if I don't, it's...

3-betting AQo in EP after an UTG raise
Assuming we're in the world of $2/4, if an UTG raises and you are next to act with AQo, is this an automatic 3-bet for you? Or, does this have to be read-dependent?

Re: AQo vs way too big a field, man this sucks.
I would play the turn straightforward and bet out instead of check-raising. You definitely don't want to wiff and give someone a free card to their draw or two-pair.
Whatever is done on the turn,...

Re: Follow through turn bet with this AK?
Thanks for the input. BB showed AK as well and it was a split pot.
Next time around I'm definitely capping pre-flop and betting the turn. I'm still not sure on betting this river.

You may be right. I always like to have a few more players to pad the pot to make this cold-call.

Re: KJs flops TP in big pot
The table was extremely wild with frequent three-betting and capping with mediocre holdings. I called pre-flop hoping to hit a big flush or straight, but instead hit top pair.
I agree that the...
