Re: Which SNG\'s favor more skilled players?

Understood that if my pure motivation for playing was to make the most money possible, I would definitely only play the format where my win rate was largest. However, my time limitations and overall...

Which SNG\'s favor more skilled players?

This comes off from a thread I read earlier, but I wanted to focus specifically on teh question above and to see what factors I'm missing.

If you are better than most players in an SNG, and your...

Table Selection Help

Hello all,

I a mid-time lurker, rare poster, first time thread starter.

I was wondering what some of you think the best ways to choose tables online are. I currently play on Party Poker at...

Re: 76s on button flops OESD and There\'s Action

Definitely call. If you do make your hand, you want as many people willing to put their money in as possible.

Re: i shouldve bet the flop here right?

With 5 other players in with you, you can not bet this flop with any kind of safety. It's a rarity that nobody would already have you beat.

If you do bet and get raised, you must fold right there....

or he could be playing AA like a moron.

[/ QUOTE ]

He played AA like a master. He extracted the mazimus from one player pretty much. 66 may very well fold to any raise so he got a...

Re: pulling out your winnings

[ QUOTE ]

I never thought of that -- I need to set something like that up. How many BB do you leave "on hand" in your PP account to handle the inevitable small swings?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well I...

Re: What does this turn raise mean?

It looks like he might have thought you were trying to steal by representing a ten that you didn't have because you never bet on the flop.

You not folding told him you weren't stealing and he had...

Re: pulling out your winnings

"Killer Online Poker" suggests the following system.

Double your money then take out half the profit. Continue this pattern.

So if you deposited the $50, at $100, you would cash out $25.
$75...

Re: Raise the flop or valid slowplay

Yes, normal players wouldn't have the cards to connect up, but I could see any lag or maniac playing 5-7s or even just 5-7 for that many bets and certainly it would be right for them to see the turn...

Re: Raise the flop or valid slowplay

Am I the only one that's going to give a dissenting opinion. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif By looking at the flop it certainly is a slow play, but I think what most are forgetting is the size of the...

Re: I am the fish sucking out on you

[ QUOTE ]
Your turn call is fine. I think BB will call a river raise, so I think I'd raise it.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only problem I have with raising the river is you might not get calls from the...

Re: Which site and other (very) nooby questions! :D

Hey Pootle,

I do most of my book ordering on E-bay, though I don't know if any of the retailers on there are in the UK, thus making shipping much cheaper for you.

Buying books there is much...

Re: Challenge: Devise a strategy to beat this odd home game

[ QUOTE ]
Avoid omaha. It tips the skill/luck balance too far toward luck.

[/ QUOTE ]

I totally disagree. I introduced Omaha in my home game and have been able to reap huge divedends from it...

Re: I Don\'t Bet the River Enough...

I don't blame you for not betting that on the river. Even though it seems like a seven is not out, your Ace kicker sucks and that's probably why you didn't bet.

Not the easiest thing to bet for...

Re: SSH Hand example p.160-161 - Bump since this is still unclear.

I think the key here is what somebody said earlier. Your hand is vulnerable to the flush and no four flush holder is going to fold on the flop because you made it an extra SB.

I questioned this...

Re: Update

Just like you Beer, I've just moved up to 2/4 from 1/2. I always thought you should have 100 times the BB at that limit, so I moved up at $400.

I have had the same kind of trouble winning now...

Re: when do you fold 76o in this hand?

You shouldn't bother playing any offsuit hand like that against few players unless you at least have two cards 10 and above.

Even then, an EP limper is one of the most dangerous players there is....

Re: Playing a set on button...

Unless this flop is a rainbow and there's no probable straight draw, you must bet it for many reasons

1. You hand is hidden
2. You're on the button which makes it look like you might be trying to...
