Re: Having trouble beating a home game
"I've kept the same strategy I always have... tight aggressive."
My guess is that you are not adjusting to playing conditions. Two calling stations and three maniacs in a full game is heaven; in...

I have had a lot of luck finding players off the Internet. All of them have turned out to be really nice. I have been hosting my game for a year and an half and have made some really good friends in...

Re: Chips for .50/1.00 limit?
I also have a .50/1 limit hold'em game that I host every Saturday. I bought the suited 11.5 gram chips. I have 150 white, 150 red, 100 green and 100 black. This was prob. not a good choice. I...

Re: SHUT UP at the table!
When one of my redraws hits, I will say: Sorry, just got lucky.
BTW, I also get really pissed when someone starts to berate a player that just drew out to a two outer. I will always take the side...

Re: Casinos in Taiwan
I lived in Taiwan 25 years ago and really loved it. My wife is getting tired of living in the States and wants to move back on a half-time basis. We have enough to retire there and I know that I can...

Casinos in Taiwan
I may be moving to Taiwan in the near future and would like to play live poker. Does anyone know whether or not poker is legal or not? And if there are any card rooms there.
Thanks

Re: 3/6 TT hand...right play?
The problem with playing passively from the turn onward is that you are giving the BB a cheaper look at the river. If you can eliminate him on the turn, you have increased your chance of winning at...

Re: 3/6 TT hand...right play?
The only hands that beat you on the turn are JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AK, 33, 66.
You can pretty much eliminate AA, KK as there prob. would have been a cap PF. 33 is also pretty unlikely as MP1 would prob....

Best tournaments in SF Bay Area
I am looking for the best NLHE tournaments in the San Francisco Bay Area. 'Best' here means:
1. Well run.
2. Lots of unskilled players.
3. Friendly players.
Thanks.

Re: Gave up too early with top 2?
I would check and call to SD with this one. Top two pair is going to win MUCH more than one out of 14 times, especially in Party 2/4. Plus, you have the odds to call: 11:1 you will spike a K or a T....

Re: what the hell do you do here?
You didn't give us any read on your opponents, but I will assume normal, LA 3/6 Party players.
On the flop, you should have raised; good chance you have the best hand. If one or both has two pair,...

Re: TT Against PF-Raising Rock
Rocks are driven by fear, calling stations are driven by hope.
When you raised PF, the rock started to worry about you having a large pair. When you raised on the flop, he prob. worried that you...

Re: Results
There are 8 SB on the flop. You have around 14 outs (9-D, 2-A & 2-6 [figure only win with str8 1/2 the time] and 1-Q [spiking a Q for TP is not very strong here]), giving you around 2.5:1 odds. This...

Seems the proper move is to bet the flop, hope that the CO folds and the Button raises. With a hand like you have and they type of opponent, you want to get heads up with the Button. Six players on...

Re: SSHE and Results
After reading SSHE, my hourly rate went into the toilet for about three weeks. Then I re-read it and now my hourly is 3.5 BB/100 at Party 1/2. This up from 2BB/100. Of course, I still don't have...
