Re: Uninteresting but common 5/10 hand

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying this to be an ass, but judging from your posts you should not be playing 5/10.

[/ QUOTE ]

i shouldn't be playing $.50/$1 either

Re: A More Refined Discussion of The Limp-Reraise

I dont really want to protect my limps. The only hands I limp w/ in EP are pocket pairs, and then I want open raises behind me so I can crack big pairs with a set.

The only time I limp reraise,...

Re: PS 5-10 hand not v. a 2+2er - KK

I think just calling the flop (what I would do) and villain puts you on 99 thru AA. If you raise, it's pretty clearly KK or AA. So I think whether to call or fold depends on the player, whether...

Uninteresting but common 5/10 hand

No reads on villain. Just to make sure: check/call or check/fold is the way to go, since if you're called, you gotta shut down, so any bet is basically a bluff. Right? I feel pathetic posting such...

oops

I misread the hand summary. I thought GoG had checkcalled the flop. Still, the smooth call on the flop suggests a big hand (or a drawing hand that could have hit when the 8 fell).

Re: $5/$10 NLHE PS qq vs. Gift of Gab

I fake slowplaying all the time against good players. My guess is GiftofGab had a few outs, and figured he'd represent trip sixes or a full house, and force you to lay down your overpair.

To all the hot shot sarcastic posters...

This came up earlier on the Poker Theory Forum. The reason I picked KK is that it's a better hand against AA than AK. Here's my arguement:

You go all in w/ AA vs KK and you win 80% of the time,...

Re: Too Cute?

There's no way you're getting away from this hand, but your cuteness may have cost you money if villain hadn't filled up. When I flop a set into a preflop raiser and there's an ace on board, I like...

First Hand Theoretical Question

First hand of a 1 (or 2, I dont think it changes things) table sit n go. UTG goes all, folded to you in the BB w/ AA. While you think, UTG turns over his cards, showing you KK.

Do you call?

Re: B&M $5/$10 NL Hand...

CO would have to be a pretty bad (or tricky) player to limp w/ KK, then flat call a raise out of position before the flop (he still had the button to act after him on the flop). I dont think your...

Re: Results

I think the check raise on the river is a bad play. Second to bottom set w/ a straight on board isn't the hand you want someone coming back over the top of you with after you bet the turn and...

Re: How to beat Spirit Rock

How to beat Spirit Rock?

Ask "Legendary" he just won a 27k pot against him. I think the best way to beat spirit rock is to flop top set when he's got an overpair.

I'm curious to know how many NL tables the top players on the forum play at once. I've been experimenting with different combinations of 2/4, 3/6, and 5/10, and was wondering if anyone has any...

Re: 5/10 small pot vs. TheGiftOfGab

Anyone else limp UTG here with 99? If you raise and get reraised, you gotta fold. If you get multiple callers, you need to hit a set to win, so you basically are raising UTG w/ a small pair.

Re: 5/10 big pot vs. TheGiftOfGab

I think Gab probably had AA, which would explain why he didn't raise the turn or river (he's not really worried about free cards, and he might be beat by a set, so he wins when you bluff, and saves...

Kurt,

You call with AQ let the blinds in and all sorts of other crap hands. I'd say it was a misplayed hand. Maybe horribly misplayed.

The guy who opened raised had AA. The small blind, who reraised and then called all in from the open raiser, had QQ.

I shouldn't have folded though, since a king came on the flop. Next time I...

Re: A little bit about money.

$1000 / 30 = 33BB / hour. Weak. Instead of reading up on tax evasion, I'd suggest reading up on poker. You should be making at least 50BB an hour if you're only 19.

Re: stars 5/10, interesting kk hand

I dont like your raise to $300. You're making it too easy for someone w/ AK to crack your kings. Mark obviously didn't have AA since he didn't reraise you after you made it 300, but you didnt know...

Re: AQ button, 2/4

I think 2/4 (when you can buy in for $400) is significantly different from 1/2. I've played a decent amount of 5/10, and, for the most part, the only difference is you trade one or two fish for one...
