Current Update From WSOP, no word on Fossilman

This is from thegoodgamblingguide.co.uk link.

77 left 1200/2400 blinds. Dunno if Ivey is still in, nor Greg. John Shipley leader w/290K, Reese, Hellmuth, Tony D, Ross Boatman all have 100+K. Julian Gardner has 160K, because he lost w/KK v AA.

God help Hellmuth should he blow it two years in a row.

This May Be Best Ongoing Link Of All

Note Tony D is actually tied for the lead. Meng La, Alan Betson, Hasan Habib, Jack Fox; there's still plenty of whales left. Wish I knew about Ivey's status.

Shipley took the lead on a 75-1 shot. Had AK against Ivey's pocket threes. Flop was A-3-x, and two running aces came.

About a month ago I posted something on the mid-limit forum about the odds on this.

isn't that more like 750 to 1?

He needs an A 2/47 followed by perfect 1/46

Although it is a bad (horrible) beat, once the second A turned there were 7 outs on the river. If the A or K or whatever the other flop card other than the 3 was Ivey would have still lost the hand to Aces full vs 3s full.

oops not that bad

Any pair but 3 on the river.

Ivey - what amazing discipline

Imagine taking a beat of those proportions. It would be so easy to say, "Screw it, I'm going to go back to my hotel room and roll around in $100 bills on my bed" (not to mention the three bracelets). But no, he comes back and is in the thick of the hunt.

This guy could, in fact, win the whole thing.

Regards, Lee

"Which would dominate."
