limp-reraise preflop
Do you ever do this, and when? I've never seen this covered in a book or article.

Re: limp-reraise preflop
It's useful if the table is very aggressive and you're sure there will be a raise after you. It's nice if there's a maniac to act behind you. It is pretty disastrous, though, if you limp and no one raises. The other problem is that all non-monkeys will suspect you have AA.

Re: limp-reraise preflop
Pretty pointless in online micro poker. People cold call with every conceivable piece of junk so what's the point? I've never tried it. I might make an exception on those rare occasions where a tilter is literally raising every hand.
BTW, I may be a monkey, but except for the small minority of opponents who play more-or-less correctly preflop, I assume that a limp-reraise shows either trash or (in a large field) a volume hand like 55 or JTs. I am rarely disappointed. |
