what do you consider a good table for 2-4 partypoker full ring game?

i'm thinking a pot average of 35+ and a vpip of 30+ ?

this is quite hard to find imo

I usually try to sit at tables where there are at least 3 people with VPIP over 35, but this is starting to be hard to do... I really have more than 2 tables open at a time doing this. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

huh? what are you talking about? i'm currently sitting at a $10/$20 table with one 30, one 50 and one 47. when do you play?

I\'m beginning to wonder why I should bother.
 

The nearby 12-24 game in a live cardroom is better than most Party 2-4s. Think: 4+ VPIP 35s. Though the capital risk is higher with 12-24, I find it easier and more pleasant to play in that game than find 6 2-4 tables to murder. (Not that I have the computing equipment to 6-table, but anyway).

I 6-table 3/6 and I had 6 tables going with at least 2 over 40vpip. But even more people were postflop loose, even though tight and agg.

Table vp$ip is pretty silly IMO, especially if you're playing 5/10 or higher where a lot of players are tight. Not all tight players are alike, or even play well, and discovering weaknesses in otherwise 'tight' players is pretty key. The other point is that, with just one or two very loose players and/or favorable position, you'll be in pots much more often with the loose players, and often heads-up.

It's also valuable to find a seat to the right of 2-3 players who play poorly and/or predictably from the blinds. The opportunity to outplay these opponents maybe once an orbit is more lucrative than most people realize.

In general I think passive is more important than loose. And VPIP is not the best way of evaluating the quality of a player/table. Some of my favorite party fish have VPIPs around 30% and are just absolutely terrible postflop. There are some around 60 who are very solid postflop. Sucking at poker is difficult to quantify.

Every 2-4 table is good. Some players might be "tight", but they still limp JTo and 24s in early position and call you down if they flop a pair.
