betting right in turn
 

I keep having trouble placing the right bet pre-flop to stay competitive in a hand. Any suggestions as to what percentage of the pot compared to my stack should be bet depending on wether or not i have over cards, high pair, or low pair would be greatly appreciated...basicly i need help making the right bets

Wow. This question is dependent so many other factors. Position, number of players in the pot, the tendencies of the players in the pot, etc, etc. (just to name a few)
Try posting specific hands in the NL&PL forums for better advice.

Add up the number value of your paired cards, multiply by 2 times the BB and subtract 7. So let's say you have a pair of nines and you're playing with a $3BB:

(9 + 9) * (2*3) - 7 = $101 flop bet.

Double it for turn and river.

The improved system uses a .12 variable in regards to suitedness...i know thats picky but it is important to get the preflop bet size as exact as possible.

Start reading.

Much of No Limit comes with experience.

I would start with raises 4-5 * the big blind, and when you bet 70-100% of the pot, depending on numurous factors.

If you're playing high enough stakes that preflop raises tend to take down the blinds and people know about position, your preflop raises should be entirely based on position. You should raise about 2.5x BB in EP, 3 BB in MP and 4 BB in LP (this according to chris fergusson).

However, I'm guessing you're not playing in that kind of a game. In that case, standard raise is about 4 or 5 BBs if you're first in. Otherwise, about pot size is what you wanna go for.
