My Big Fishy Father

I have read some other people's post talking about weaker fishier poker players who are their friends. This one is about my dad.

He plays poker once in a while when we go to the casino as a family. I usually play 10/20 and he plays bacarrat. But once in a while he will play poker for a bit. Usually 2/5, sometimes 5/10. He is such a fish and when we try and teach him or explain why a raise or fold is obviously the right move, he scoffs at us.

Preflop he pretends to look at his cards. But he does not actually look at them. His reason for this is that he does not want people to read his face which will give away his hand. So his thinking is that if he does not know what he has, either will anyone else. He says that if he has AA that he might get excited and people will see that and fold.

The board could be K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

And he will think that his Ace high (no clubs) might be good against 3 other opponents. These players cannot be taught how to play, but they make us lots of money. You often want to hear their reasonings for their decisions. That is the funniest part. To them it makes perfect sense.

I love my dad but he is a big fat Tuna.

Do you play at Brantford and does your father have very white hair?

Please let us know when your father plans to play again. Date, time, location and stakes (if known) with at least 48 hours notice will be sufficient.

LOL, I only wish my dad was a fish. I invited my dad to play at our local games. He's real LAG-y and sucks out relentlessly. He's also a talker--the bigger his stack the more he talks. He's sucked out on me numerous times when he called big or went all in with way the worst of it. Drives me crazy.

I am not gonna post his picture. But we mostly play at casinorama. He is early 60s with glasses and white hair.
