Party Poker 0.50 / 1.00

So I played last night at PP for about 700 hands (actually at Eurobet) but it is the same thing.

After going through 10 tables, I quit and did a check to see what the average VPIP was for the night of all opponents (I think it is on the summary tab, but I don't recall for sure) and the average VPIP for the night of all my oponents was......29%!!!! WOW, I don't know what is going on there, but it is a rock garden at every table.

In all honesty a new book needs to be written to address this. If you look at a lot of the low limit literature out there, they talk about the games being loose with 5+ people seeing every pot, SHOW ME WHERE!?!?!? I rarely if ever see it above 35% now. I would like to see something where I can study that shows how to beat rock gardens.

Serious Question....is it time to start reading HEFAP? I was going to wait until I was past 2/4 and had 150,000 hands.

1. 700 hands is not a big enough sample size.

2. Your table selection needs improvement.

3. Even if you're at a .5/1 table with a 29% VPIP, there is no way your opponents are playing well enough postflop to implement the strategy contained in HPFAP.

why would you wait to read HPFAP?

and just because they are getting tighter does not mean they play well pre or postflop

Go play 3/6 at an Indian Casino. That's where.

29% is hardly a rock-garden. The 1/2 games which can be as low as the low-teens are closer to rock gardens. You do not need a new book, you just need to use logic to adjust. Suited Connectors and low-pocket pairs go down in value, high cards go up in value. Steal and bluff more. Be more aggressive.

Also, I find tables where everybody is loose as hell makes for extreme variance. I personally prefer a game where one or two players are extremely bad, and the rest are average players. But that is just me.

I agree with the OP. These games are not even close to what they were in the past. Not even worth the time except for clearing the bonuses.

I decided to screw around on the .5/1 a few weeks ago. The players were indeed tighter, but far from good. About as weak-tight as it comes. The players seriously had no clue what a value bet was.

The average VP$IP in the games I play in is 25% and they are not rock gardens.

You need to look at the SF%. You probably have and average of 3-4 people seeing the flop. That means there will be many flops seen by 5 or more people.

The addition of 6 max tables really hurt the looseness of the 10 max tables at the .5/1 level.

If you came in thinking, wow easy money with 5 to the flop, and 3 to showndown every hand, you just have to adjust a bit as the players are still bad.
