Once he raised the turn, i thought he had the set. I thought it was so obvious he had the set the way he check/called the flop, then pushed when i had alot of chips in (the way most people play it; i always fast-play my sets). I was planning on mucking but then something told me to call.

There was ~$15 in the pot, I bet $15, then he has ~$40 left, he pretty much pushes, so it was ~$30 for me to call.

Is this a good call or should I be laying this down?

Results in white below:
BB shows [ 6c, 6h ] a full house, Sixes full of twos.
Hero shows [ Qd, Qh ] two pairs, queens and twos.
Hero wins $12.25 from side pot #1 with two pairs, queens and twos.
BB wins $96.75 from the main pot with a full house, Sixes full of twos.

it would be easier to make this decision if you knew what type of player your opponant was. however, if you thought he had the set you should have folded. you weren't getting pot odds and really should have folded.

With a flop smooth call and a turn checkraise you are almost always behind with an overpair. Once villain smooth called the flop you should be looking for ways to exercise pot control. I would bet about 2/3 pot on the turn and fold to a raise. Makes the fold that much easier when you have less money on the pot.

I usually check behind on the turn.

Agreed with Savman and TWP. You really shoulden't be making a PSB on the turn if you're going to fold to a raise.

If I think I'm ahead on the turn (b/c I know villian is a donkey), I will pot the turn and call a raise if it comes.

If I'm not sure where I stand on the turn, I will either check behind on the turn and call a river bet, or make a smaller bet one the turn and fold to a raise. If he calls on the turn, definitely check behind on the river.
