This was the very first hand. It's Saturday Night and really didn't think they had AA or KK cause they would have raised more. I figured I was at worst a coin flip and maybe they had AQ or something. Did I play this right? What would you do?

In a $10 it's usually fine. You'll be up against AJ, A7, etc.. often enough to tip the scales making it profitable.

If you didn't read them for AA or KK it was definitely the right play.

You've got FE on your raise all-in.
If you get 1 caller you're getting 1.5-1 odds on your all-in.
If you get 2 caller 2.5-1.

The only way your move is -EV is if they have KK or AA

Maybe I'm a little conservative...I prefer to call the reraise and see the flop. I don't think good players should be looking for a coin flip on the first hand.

I like this push. Your either going to take down a nice pot early and hopefully send some sort of message (even at the $11s) or get called. If you get called your likely either in a coinflip situation getting great odds on your money, in a dominating situation (especially at the $11s where I've seen all in calls with KQ or KJ), or possibly dominated by AA/KK.

I disagree with NYJ's line of calling and seeing the flop. You are going to miss the flop around 2/3s of the time and have to play postflop against 2 $11ers you have no read on, not the ideal situation. If you think they have AA or KK your likely dominated regardless so the only benefit of this line is getting to bow out early if you miss. However there is another side-effect of this play. If you make your have you WANT hands like TT and 88 to call drawing to 2 outs. If the flop comes AJx like it did and you bet/push those hands are going to have a hard time calling, they still might but its less likely. Take the probably coinflip getting 5 to 2 on your money (assuming they even call), you'd kill for that situation later in the SNG.

No way...this is craziness IMO
Either way you look at it, you're holding an unimproved ace that is beat by any pair and you're up against two people early in the tournament.

BTW, what kind of read can you have on them this early in the game ?

They are playing a $10, and most likely suck. You'll see weak aces or worse a lot here.
