Sometimes I call, sometimes I 3-bet, sometimes I fold.

My opinion here would be to 3-bet if you're going to play. You have a hand that you would rather play heads up, so ensure that the blinds get out. If it was suited, a cold call isn't bad.
In fact, I would recommend playing this. Given his raises (did you get to see any of the hands he raised with), and that you have position with a good hand, go for it. |

It's 7-handed and you have position. Probably better to 3-bet than fold. I don't think coldcalling is an option.

I'd just go ahead and 3-bet cause I don't want the blinds seeing the flop. If I get capped I play my hand very catiously.
