steal raise with QJo?

Just curious what the consensus is regarding steal raises.
I just had QJo on the button, folded to me, and I ended up
folding, partly because I don't like QJ and partly because
I was in 2 other hands at the time.

I find QJo, JTo, QTo to be so weak as to not really be worth
playing much. But maybe I'm playing too tight. Do you
generally call, raise, or fold in this situation? Party
$2/$4, for reference.

This question really seems to depend on the blinds. If they're loosey-goosey types who will call any raise cold, you probably have to tighten up your steal standards, but even 3-ways QJo with position is a decent holding. I think you could almost raise for value here. If the blinds are super-tight you can even go as low as the baby PP, Q9, J9, any Ax, etc. for steal attempts.

Are the blinds loose or tight?

I would probably steal with this hand either way, but I would definately try against tight blinds.

Agreed. That's part of the reason that these hands work so well for blind-stealing. It's not really a blind-steal if you're raising with QQ. It's just a good raise.

You have QJo on the button vs 2 random hands in the blinds, this is more like a valueraise.

Bingo!

This is NOWHERE NEAR a steal ... you have a better than average hand and most likely better than the two other hands so anything except raising is a mistake, in my book.

I mean, what on earth are you going to wait for? Pocket Kings to raise when it's folded around to you on the button? Position + better than average holding vs. two random hands playing out of position for the rest of the hand -- what's the problem?

I don't give a [censored] how tight the blinds are, this is an automatic raise.
