AQo in the CO/3-bet, button caps.

The TAG in this hand had been raising a lot preflop and running the table pretty well. Button played a bit tricky at times post-flop. The preflop cap is surely out of the ordinary. I had seen him only cold call previously.

What do you make of my line here?

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Flop: (13.33 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
TAG checks, Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">loose/tricky bets</font>, TAG calls, Hero calls.

The only thing I don't like is the PF 3-bet.

I think it's fine.

Between TAG's opening position and his prior raise frequency, he should have a wide enough range of hands that 3 betting is good.

Could you rely on the button to auto-raise should you bet the flop? If not, 15:1 closing the flop action is a good call. There should still be lots of hands in play other than AA, KK and AK.

The turn being checked through would be bad. Can you count on the button to bet, and, if you can, what would you do if TAG check-raises? Betting yourself gets you away from these tricky questions, IMO. If TAG check-raises now, you have a better sense of what this means to your hand because you bet.

The only other option would be folding, cold-calling with AQo here serves no purposes, especially not if hero is correct in his read on the TAG as a somewhat loose raiser.

I like the play, but hero is facing a real risk of being out-kicked. Pot is large though, so the turn play is correct.

I think button raised after hero.
