dinner in vegas
 

hi, my wife and i are going to vegas this weekend. between long stretches of poker on the strip we want to go out to a restaurant for dinner. we usually end up eating at the bellagio buffet, or something like that, but have never actually been to a restaurant with waiters etc in vegas....except for coffee shop type places. we're not looking super high end....or even high end for that matter. price isn't really an issue....we want really good food.
any thoughts, recommendations?

Olives in the Bellagio is casual but nice. Todd English's menu is always changing. I've dined there every time I stay at the Bellagio and I am never disappointed.

Across the street and a little bit south on the strip is a shopping mall kind of place called Hawaiian Village (I think, something like that). Inside is an Indian restaurant I ate at during one trip this summer. Very good, very nice interior, not too pricey at all.

If you want some of the best mexican you've ever eaten, go to Lindo Michoacan.

pricey - nine, aweful atmosphere, superb cuisine, great "sights" i was seated next to nick & jessica last time i was there.

cheap- capriottis sandwiches, on my top 3 best sandwiches list (white house, AC. & phillipes, LA. other 2)

middle- noodles at bellagio, if you wife is cute she can walk into the poker room and get two comps that will cover the meal from a drooling floorman in a new york minute.

old school - lawry's (THE prime rib), im always in a good mood there

Top of the World. Great food, inexpensive (dinner for 2 <$100 sans drinks), best view in town, reservations get you a free trip up the tower.

I'd recommend the Commander's Palace at the Aladdin. At the ultra-high-end there is some better food in Vegas, but if I could only pick one restaurant at which to eat the rest of my life, it might well be the CP (well, the New Orleans original, but the Vegas location is pretty close).

Picasso at the Belaggio is a superb dining experience. It'll set you back over $200, though.

Nine at The Palms is pretty great, too.

Sabarro's at the monte carlo food court has great pizza.

if you like sushi and seafood in a relax fun atmosphere theres Todai in the desert passage. Its a chain restaurant but great sushi.

Gallaghers steakhouse in NYNY is also good,
