2-2-5 NL. I flop quads against a HORRIBLE player.

2-2-5 NL game at Greektown in Detroit. There is a HUGE fish in the game that usually goes through about $4000 in 2 hours. He raises to $25 preflop every hand. He has about $2000 to start this hand, I have him covered. He likes to bluff, and will sometimes pay off big bets with modest hands.

Fish is utg and raises to $25. I'm in the CO, and it folds to me. I make it $75 with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. The BB goes all-in for his last $75.

Pot is about $230

Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Okay so obviously this is the flop I'm looking for

Fish bets $100. I call. Pot is now $430

Turn is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Fish bets $375. I call. Pot is now $1285.

River is a blank. The fish has about $1500 left.

He checks to me. How much do I bet?

My first instinct was to say around $500, but since he will call big bet with marinal hands your best play may be to bet him all in.

A $500 bet called 60% is $300 +EV

A $1500 bet called 25% is $375 +EV

Anywhere from 1/3 pot to 1/2 his stack, depending on what sized bets you've seen him call down.

plus because the hand has to be showndown i like the all in better.

I kind of feel like min-raising the turn would make this easier. If he is as big of a fish as you say he will call with any kind of draw or pair and when you raise and then the all-in on the river is no longer an overbet.

But given the way it was played I like all-in on the river. Usually he will call it all if he will call any.

Is raising the turn an option? Sound like the kind of guy who wouldn't think twice about calling a min-raise, or something higher, on the turn, trying to hit on this draw heavy board. He'd probably call a min-raise with a 1 pair hand?

If you can get more in on the turn, your river push is more callable. Plus, is there any chance he is drawing and won't put any more money in on the river since you have position?

If HE had position on you, you might get him to bluff with a missed draw, but since you have position, you'd have to make a tiny bet to induce it, which wouldn't be worth it since he'll call with marginal holdings.

Raise the turn to $900. All in on the river gets called. The way it played, I bet $800. I don't wanna lose value by going all in (yeah I know the EV calculations make sense but still I wanna get paid by quads). Also, give him some perceived fold equity if he thinks c/r'ing all in will make you fold.

raise flop. raise turn. as played, all in on river.

I like turn flat call, also, i like raising the turn, perhaps even minraising. I dont like all in on the river as he may be able to get away from his hand.
