Preflop question

10/20 Game, Pokerroom.com

Table is fairly loose, sometimes passive, sometimes aggressive. Players are fairly typical, no real donks in the hand.

My friend and I had a preflop question. You are SB with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] . MP raiser, 2 cold-callers. Do you call or fold, and why?

I fold. If this was like 89s or 9Ts I'd call.

I'd call. You have great relative position on the PFR. If you hit, you can check/raise the field and win a big pot.

Depending on who the cold callers are, you're getting like 7-1 on the PF call.

I'd understand a fold PF though.

Meh. I just posted a hand where I cold-called with 87s. How tight is the big blind?

Also, in a 2/3 blind structure I think this is a pretty straightforward cool-call.

Re: Preflop question

I fold.

In my experience, a raise alone would be enough reason for me to drop low suited connectors. The few callers at a loose table tells me there is an increased chance of facing an opponent drawing to a higher flush and clearly overcards will dominate. Unless the wheel str8 hits, there are few flops that are likely to help me without also improving one of my opponents.
