Need Information on new comps
 

i've been running my AMD Athlon 550mhz for way too long now. i also haven't followed the tech. scene at all lately and have no idea what the difference is between the various cpus (p4's, athlon xp, athlon 64, etc.)

can you point me to a good site explaining the differences, or feel free to chime in with your own opinions.

i've been very happy with my AMD and would like to go that route again.

I found a barebones system with a Gigabyte K8U motherboard, Athlon 64 3200+ CPU, XFX GeForce FX 5200 vid card. does that sound like a good base?
