What hands are pushing all-in for value here?

I feel like there are many draws and maybe a Jack that would try and throw me off here.

This exact scenario is the bane of my existence at 50 and 100 NL right now. I find myself in this situation far too often and i feel like i always make the wrong play. after the flop gets called, everything else feels like betting in the dark when you are OOP. totally sucks.

you are right to wonder what the hell this guy is betting here. it could very well be a draw of some sort with a river bluff trying to mug you. I dont know. i find my mind usually racing at the river and thinking "its happening again". cliche, but this is probably largely read dependent.

PPS The raise preflop is fine, he's been folded to in the CO of a 5 handed game with a suited ace. What are your raising requirements in this situation?

well, I'm not sure - i played about 10-15k of nl 100 6max recently and made like 1,500 but i then lost most of it when i moved up to the 200nl 6max

maybe i was playing too rockish - but when i reviewed most of my hands over the break i thought i came to the conclusion that making raises w/ these marginal aces , suited or not, say A7-AJ, I tend to get in trouble

maybe you're right - i guess i'm not one to say

yeah im definitely raising this here when folded to but damn am i annoyed when the button steals my position.

what about a blocking bet on the river or is this completely wrong time for that? wondering because in this situation, a check just screams for a huge positional bet to steal the pot with a missed draw.

I hate this spot. You need to be good 28% of the time or more to show profit. I'd probably fold, but that might be too tight. I just can't pick out enough hands villain would call down all the way and then would bet on the end that we beat (9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] maybe).

Seems slightly weak OOP doesn't it. Villain will make a PSB with almost anything because you've waved the white flag. If hero had position, I completely agree.

Betting this flop in position and checking behind on the river is far better than betting it OOP and checking the river.
