would some of you super smart 2+2 people help me out :)

I am wanting to get into daytrading. i have my own home based buisness right now and i've set aside about $500 to toss into the market. I've read a few books on it and watch the tickers all day while i'm working. i just want to get some advise from some people that are already doing day trading and that can point me at some good stocks to start with. Thanks all

You won't be able to daytrade with less than $25,000, and to be successful you'll need a good amount more than that.

My suggestion: stick your $500 into an index fund and start making periodic monthly additions to that until you have a decent sized bankroll to start thinking about daytrading. In the meantime, you should read as much as you can to increase your knowledge of the markets.

Yeah, commissions will kill you with a roll that small. How do you make 10k daytrading? Start with 20k.

Daytrading is a pretty easy way to go broke too... don't forget

$500?

You'd need closer to $40K to even begin thinking about trading, and even that is a bit on the small side. Listen to Sniper... stick it in some long-term investment. Even with today's super low commissions, your $500 would get eaten up incredibly quickly by transaction costs.

What strategy do you plan on using?

Make sure you enjoy your house while you still have it.

dont do it. it's a dumb idea for all the reasons cited in the other replies.

give $500 away. it's a better investment. find 25 needy people and buy them each $20 of food, now you are really "day trading" and you cannot lose.

renewed interest in day trading is highly indicative of market tops.

1) What home based business is this?

2) It sounds to me like you are not working very much (watching the tape all day) and are hoping gambling will save you from a life you hate.

3) try TC2000 software to watch the market for you.
