When do you reach all-in vs. fold mode?

At what point in relation to blinds/stacks/in money vs. fainal table or winning.....do you become...either all-in or fold it up??

Does once your stack is below average and the BB is >= to a 4th of your stack sound like a good time....is there ever a time to go into this mode (obviously when the BB is >= your stack)?

Hiya Phishy,

For me, it's in the neighborhood of 10-12xBB. At that point, if I raise 3xBB pre-flop and am called, I barely have enough left to bet the pot at the flop, leaving me very little leverage to chase off a pair-plus-four draw or something similar. So, once your standard open-raise will be more than 1/3 of your stack, or if your only effective reraise in any pot would be more than 1/3 of your stack, you need to go all in (if you're going to raise) in order to get maximum leverage on your chips.

I reach all-in or fold mode when my stack gets down to 10x BB.

I'm never not in all-in or fold mode. Of course, I think I set a new record in consecutive SnG's out of the money so perhaps I should rethink my strategy.
