Heads-up blind positions

When the table goes from 3 to 2, it seems like the blinds get reversed. Why is that? It seems like they should wrap around so that the dealer is on the BB, and the other player the SB.

The way it normally works, the dealer acts first, which is also "backwards."

Any good reasons for this?

Thanks,

Basically they put the dealer on the SB because it would be too big of an advantage for the button to act last every round.

This evens out the game a bit (less of a positional advantage).

Dealer would have too big an advantage if he got position on all rounds (headsup), so they make him sb.

I have also heard the justification "the BB is always left of the dealer" used.
